SINGALONG-PLAYALONG WITH TOSCO MUSIC - FREE!

LOCATION
Victoria Yards Uptown (corner of N. Tryon & 7th Street)
DESCRIPTION

Celebrating music and music-makers is at the core of everything Tosco Music does. That's why we can't wait to participate in our first ever international Make Music Day!

As part of Make Music Day Charlotte on June 21, Tosco Music will lead a "Singalong/Playalong" uptown outside, just like the earliest days of Tosco Music Parties (pictured here circa early-1990s)!

The entire event is FREE for all ages and experience levels from 4-7pm at Victoria Yards (408 N. Tryon, corner of N. Tryon and 7th St) -- there will be 3 food trucks with food and beverage for purchase, and 12 picnic tables, so come enjoy dinner, bring your guitar or ukulele, and make music with us! And, just like at every Tosco Music Party, even if you don't play an instrument, everyone can sing along!

RSVP and spread the word on Facebook here.

Tentative #ToscoMusic schedule on June 21:
4-5pm Beginner Guitar & Ukulele Class (class taught by John Tosco himself)

SEE WHAT'S
COMING UP

  • The music parties are an indie-music institution in Charlotte, so popular they often fill a 1,200-seat hall, with a roster of performers that has included everyone from American Idol contestants to The Avett Brothers.

  • What started 20 years ago as a jam session in John Tosco’s living room has bloomed into one of the region’s most unique regional events – and a coveted gig for unsigned artists.

  • A Tosco Music Party is a theatre in the round of sorts for acoustic musicians. It's a medium that breaks down artificial barriers between entertainers and audience.

  • Maybe you’ve never heard the new folk trio out of Chapel Hill or the dulcimer player from Appalachia. Maybe you’ll marvel over a double-necked guitar solo or a 13-year-old classical pianist. Whatever you’re seeking, this incredible, quarterly variety show will make you grateful to have John Tosco curating your musical adventure.

  • Think of Tosco Music Party as the musical equivalent of walking into Ben & Jerry's and saying: 'I'd like a spoonful of everything, please.'
