Please donate to support the Oct 17 VTMP here.  Watch on Facebook Live or YouTube

Due to continuing restrictions with large indoor gatherings, and with everyone's health, safety and well-being our primary concern, we have decided to present this annual holiday tradition virtually on Saturday, December 12 at 8PM. The virtual event will once again be streamed free at 8pm on YouTube and Facebook Live; the virtual event will remain viewable online after the event.  A $10 donation is requested from those who are able to help keep these events accessible to all and ensure TMP's can resume in person when theaters reopen.

Stay tuned for upcoming performers and more details!

As a result of this change, Tosco Music Party on December 5, 2020 at McGlohon Theater has been cancelled. If you already purchased tickets for December 5, a ticketing representative from Blumenthal Performing Arts will be reaching out to you by phone about the options for your December 5 tickets.

Option 1: Please consider converting your ticket purchase to a tax deductible donation to support the virtual Tosco Music Holiday Party on December 12.

Option 2: Roll your tickets forward. You can choose to apply the value of your ticket order to purchase tickets of the same or lesser value to any future Tosco Music or CarolinaTix event.

Option 3: Refund. If neither option 1 nor 2 will work for you, your tickets can be refunded.

Blumenthal Performing Arts box office may be contacted at (704) 372-1000 Monday-Friday 10pm-6pm, or by email at

We’re grateful for your support and understanding. I look forward to gathering with you again for live music and singalongs as soon as possible!

  • The music parties are an indie-music institution in Charlotte, so popular they often fill a 1,200-seat hall, with a roster of performers that has included everyone from American Idol contestants to The Avett Brothers.

  • What started 20 years ago as a jam session in John Tosco’s living room has bloomed into one of the region’s most unique regional events – and a coveted gig for unsigned artists.

  • A Tosco Music Party is a theatre in the round of sorts for acoustic musicians. It's a medium that breaks down artificial barriers between entertainers and audience.

  • Maybe you’ve never heard the new folk trio out of Chapel Hill or the dulcimer player from Appalachia. Maybe you’ll marvel over a double-necked guitar solo or a 13-year-old classical pianist. Whatever you’re seeking, this incredible, quarterly variety show will make you grateful to have John Tosco curating your musical adventure.

  • Think of Tosco Music Party as the musical equivalent of walking into Ben & Jerry's and saying: 'I'd like a spoonful of everything, please.'
