Congratulations to our 2023 Rotary Club Scholarship winners!

Rotary Club of Charlotte provides funding for Tosco Music Scholarships that serve young musicians who have a passion for music.

Learn about our 2023 winners below:

Anthony Vasquez: “The one activity that speaks to me and my heart the most, is music. Not only is it the one activity that is universal, it brings people together as well as brings positive emotions. My dream is to one day open up a music school that focuses on pursuing music and teaching about all things music.”

Jared Janpol: Actor/singer and UNCSA student.

Daniel Scibetta: Dan demonstrates a high level of proficiency on the drums. His dedication to jazz music, combined with his exceptional talent and leadership skills, makes him a true young jazz ambassador and an asset to our growing jazz community.

Campbell McEntire Campbell is an extremely gifted musician who has grown over the last several years in his ability to adapt to a variety of styles. His growth as a musician is evident in his desire to pursue a degree in classical music.

Lorena Ruiz: “Music is a massive part of my identity, as It reminds me of my highest points in life as well as my lowest. It makes me so happy to be part of the band throughout high school, and I plan to continue it as a career. I would love to show others this unique and exhilarating feeling when I play music for everyone.”

Alanabeth Parker Duncan: Young Bluegrass musician from Raleigh.

Ariana Geyling Ariana is a quick learner and has the discipline to work on difficult chords and techniques until they become performance level. Ariana’s dedication to becoming a better musician has persevered despite obstacles.

Akosua Afriyie Mensah: “Music has definitely taught me many life lessons, and helped me to grow tremendously as a person. Although bassoon is my main instrument, I never stopped playing any of the others. Music is my passion.”
