Congratulations to our 2024 Rotary Club Scholarship winners!

Rotary Club of Charlotte provides funding for Tosco Music Scholarships that serve young musicians who have a passion for music.

Learn about our 2024 winners below:

  • Aja Barber is a 16-year-old trumpet player - "I hope that by attending this music camp I can better experience what it would be like to be a student at the university, and I would also like to meet more of the music educators at the school."
  • Bethany Xiques is a 15-year-old cellist - "One day, I hope to play professionally, teach students, and continue to play for my church and community."
  • Constantine Rybak is a 15-year-old cellist - "Ever since I was young, music has been an important part of my life because it has a large impact on me."
  • Faith Gladstone is a 24-year-old violinist - "I have worked so hard at the violin for the past 18 years, and I would love the opportunity to
    continue to daily develop my skill."
  • Ireisha Vaughn is a 28-year-old percussionist - "I am deeply committed to using music as a tool for healing and stress relief, especially in marginalized communities."
  • Malchiah Lewis is a 14-year-old multi-instrumentalist - "I cannot imagine my life without music as it has become a fundamental part of me which I will continue to cultivate."
  • Nicoleta Cutitaru is a 17-year-old singer - "The stage is where I find myself, where I feel happy. I get to become a new person and tell a story."
  • Sayuki Peterman is a 16-year-old violinist - "I enjoy performing in the community for elderly with other young musicians, sharing the joy of music all over."
  • Vesa Basha is a 21-year-old singer - "Music, for me, is not just a form of expression but a lifelong journey of learning, creativity, and connection with others."
  • Victoria Catu is a 15-year-old saxophonist - "I remember clearly the day I first picked up my saxophone. It was a feeling like no other, it was truly indescribable. From that day on, it somehow became a part of me."
  • William Tsung is a 17-year-old cellist - "I’ve been playing cello for 9 years of my life. I feel it has become a part of me, and it’s something that represents me as a person."
  • Zakary Clausell-Santos is an 18-year-old singer - "With the skills and knowledge gained through this scholarship, I hope to contribute to the vibrant tapestry of the performing arts, sharing stories that resonate with audiences and fostering a deeper appreciation for the transformative potential of music and theatre."
