Congratulations to Anastasia, Claire, DJ, Isabella, Liliana & Medha for receiving Jacob Titus Youth Music Scholarships!
About the winners:
- Anastasia Rybak is a 12-year-old violinist - "I do violin because I love music."
- Claire Hermann is a 15-year-old pianist - "Music has been something that has always made sense to me love to share my music with others and love to play at the Tosco open mic nights."
- DJ Rybak is a 10-year-old pianist - "I think piano is going to help me a lot, especially in college and this would give me a huge head start to that."
- Isabella Colangelo is a 14-year-old singer - "Music is a very important thing in my life, and I really hope to continue my education in music
and the art of singing." - Liliana Nelson is a 12-year-old violinist - "I learned that playing the violin can include your whole body and not just your arms and hands. I would use this scholarship to pay for lessons that would help me improve. So I can share my hope and happiness with other people."
- Medha Macha is a 10-year-old singer - "This opportunity would help me achieve my goal of creating music albums and pursuing my passion for music."
Tosco Music is a volunteer-powered nonprofit organization that has been building community through music in Charlotte for more than 30 years through Tosco Music Parties and music outreach throughout Charlotte. Since 2010, Tosco Music has provided dozens of scholarships for youth and adults to summer music camps through Arts+ (formerly Community School of the Arts), Jacob Titus Scholarship, Charlotte Rotary Club and The Swannanoa Gathering.
