Congrats to our 2019 Jacob Titus Music Scholarship Winner!
Congratulations Leena Affel on being the first recipient of the Jacob Titus Youth Music Scholarship!
Leena Affel is 12 and a student at Northwest School of the Arts. She has been studying violin since 2017 and recently began learning to play the viola as well. She was awarded a scholarship for 2 months of private lessons.
In her application, Leena wrote, “You don’t have to have music in your family gene, you can learn it and it can be fun and great.” Leena's instructor, Eric Boruff, called her a “dedicated student” in his recommendation and added, “Her regular weekly lessons and daily practice on both instruments has resulted in a consistent pace of progress.”
We applaud Leena's hard work and her teachers and parents for supporting her music education!
Thank you to Tamara Titus & Lane Jacobs for launching this music opportunity, and to those who have made contributions to the fund. Learn more about donating to, or applying for, the Jacob Titus Youth Music Scholarship here.
